SAP Legacy SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial ERP n/a 2020 2021
In 2020, Lexmark implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform. The initiative targeted the companys global accounting and tax footprint, aligning the new system with U.S. GAAP requirements and oversight from executive finance leadership reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. The SAP S/4 HANA deployment concentrated on core financial modules and capabilities typical for ERP Financial projects, including general ledger and financial accounting, accounts payable and receivable, tax accounting, management accounting for P&L and balance sheet analysis, and treasury and cash flow management. Configuration work emphasized statutory reporting, consolidated financials, budgeting and forecasting workflows, and controls to support accurate financial statements and internal control requirements. Operational scope extended to the enterprise finance organization covering accounting, tax, treasury, and financial planning functions across more than 150 countries where Lexmark operates, with program governance conducted from corporate finance leadership based in Lexington Kentucky. The implementation established a centralized SAP S/4 HANA financial ledger and consolidation posture to unify country level reporting and support cross functional financial processes. Governance was anchored by the Chief Accounting Officer serving as Program Sponsor, responsible for approving strategy, the implementation plan, project scope, and milestones, and for supporting the implementation team and facilitating problem solving to achieve project objectives. Project oversight included direct alignment with the Chief Financial Officer and involvement in budgeting, capital structure discussions, and coordination with treasury and FP&A teams throughout the rollout.
