In 2022, LivsMed implemented GP Payroll Services from Globalization Partners to accelerate entry into Japan, using GP Payroll Services as a PEO (Professional Employer Organization) solution to hire local staff without a local legal entity. The engagement was explicitly focused on rapid market activation for sales leadership and a presales team, enabling LivsMed to operationalize go to market activities in Japan while entity formation proceeded in parallel.
GP Payroll Services was used for core employment lifecycle capabilities, including candidate onboarding, local payroll execution, payroll tax compliance, and ongoing employment administration. The deployment leveraged Globalization Partners’ AI powered platform and a dedicated customer success function to manage compliance workflows and employee documentation, delivering employer of record management and payroll services through a centralized service model.
Operational coverage was limited to Japan and centered on HR, talent acquisition, and sales functions, with the solution enabling LivsMed’s head of talent acquisition and HR business partners to shift focus from administrative tasks to go to market execution. Globalization Partners handled local labor law compliance, tax filings, and payroll cycles for the hired Japan team, while LivsMed retained control of commercial strategy and market validation activities.
Governance was organized as a dual track, with GP Payroll Services providing immediate employment governance and compliance oversight, and LivsMed progressing entity setup in parallel to establish a permanent local structure. The engagement delivered explicitly stated outcomes, including deployment of a team in weeks not months, 100% compliance with Japan’s regulations, freed internal resources to focus on core GTM strategy, and a validated route to establishing LivsMed Japan with early revenue traction.
