Momentive Software (formerly Community Brands) Legacy Abila MIP Fund Accounting Non Profit ERP ERP Services and Operations n/a 2020 2020
In 2020 Low Income Housing Institute implemented Abila MIP Fund Accounting as its Non Profit ERP to centralize fund accounting for its affordable housing portfolio. The deployment targeted accounting and financial reporting workflows across nine real estate projects, providing a project-level ledger structure used by senior accountants and accounting managers to build budgets and forecasts and to track actual spending against project budgets. Abila MIP Fund Accounting was configured to support core nonprofit finance capabilities including fund-based ledgers, accounts payable processing, monthly journal entry processing, bank and credit card reconciliations, grant accounting, loan schedule maintenance and project P and L reporting. The system was used to complete month end close activities, typically involving around 50 recurring journal entries per month, to manage approval of daily billing and to reconcile grants and other receivables for each property. Operational coverage included Accounting, Finance leadership and external reporting to the Audit Committee, Board of Directors and the City of Seattle Housing Authority, with regular communication flows to the CFO and Accounting Manager. Governance and control practices centered on monthly budget adjustments, payroll and tax budgeting, review of property related contracts including maintenance and construction, and preparation of statutory and management reports using Abila MIP Fund Accounting for internal and external stakeholders.
