In 2014 Magnet Kitchens implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial system to centralize finance operations. The Finance Lead managed the SAP FI/CO project working with the business and external consultants, and the system went live in August 2014, after which the team entered a Hypercare phase to support business users.
The deployment configured SAP FI/CO modules to support core financial processes including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, and controlling. Consolidation and statutory reporting capabilities were established to support subsequent consolidations and submission to the parent company, and taxation reporting workflows were implemented for VAT returns and cashflow forecasting.
Operational scope centered on a Shared Service Centre model, with 28 staff providing accounting services and 10 direct reports to the Finance Lead. Teams delivered month end and year end close, transactional processing, credit control, related balance sheet control, statutory reporting, and liaison with external auditors, requiring extensive engagement across all areas of the business.
Governance combined finance process ownership with hands on change management, the Finance Lead providing day to day oversight during Hypercare and coordinating with external consultants. Magnet Kitchens SAP ERP ECC 6.0 ERP Financial deployment emphasized centralized finance operations, standardized close and reporting workflows, and sustained operational support through the Shared Service Centre.

| Crown Computing | Legacy | Crown Time and Attendance | Time and Attendance | HCM | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, Magnet Kitchens deployed Crown Time and Attendance, a Time and Attendance application from Crown Computing to address workforce management needs at its newly refurbished Darlington headquarters. The relocation and consolidation of 550 staff at the Darlington site prompted a reassessment of time capture, absence tracking, and access control across manufacturing and support functions, and the project was governed by a cross-functional decision group including IT, payroll and shop floor managers.
The Crown Time and Attendance implementation used Crown’s Open Options software to configure flexible working rules, absence reporting, authorized overtime controls and future-ready shop floor data capture capability. The configuration standardized clocking across the Darlington site and linked access control into time and attendance workflows to provide consistent time capture for production and support teams.
Integrations included a payroll interface to Midland Software and a reduction in manual data entry into PS2000, which streamlined payroll administration processes. The deployment covered the Darlington manufacturing plant and support functions and was planned for phased rollout to other sites and for web interface use in stores to extend time and attendance governance.
Governance included on-site training and support from Crown to ensure users applied Magnet’s work rules, and the rollout approach emphasized shop floor buy-in and team leader adoption. Early outcomes reported by Magnet included reduced administration time for the full-time time administrator, improved accuracy of payable hours and absence reporting, and the intent to extend Open Options to additional facilities such as stores and car park access control.
