Boomi Legacy Boomi AtomSphere API Management, iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service) PaaS Mind-Mercatis 2020 2020
In 2020, Markas implemented Boomi AtomSphere to govern and orchestrate data and processes across a hybrid application ecosystem, adopting API Management,iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service) capabilities to enable centralized integration control. The deployment leveraged the Boomi AtomSphere cloud platform to provide a self-service integration layer with an intuitive drag-and-drop interface, allowing multiple teams to develop and manage connectors and flows concurrently. Boomi AtomSphere was configured modularly, enabling a progressive rollout where existing processes were refined and new flows were developed, tested, and deployed. The implementation included 15 Boomi connectors in production, with four connectors dedicated to HR functions, three to management systems, one to CRM, one to plant production software, and additional connectors used for file exchanges across vertical systems. The project integrated explicitly named systems, including Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle HCM, Zucchetti, Sage DPW, Q-81 HSE, Fleet Support, and CSB, extending orchestration into HR, CRM, finance-adjacent processes, and production systems. Mind-Mercatis served as the implementation partner and led a proof of concept that validated Boomi AtomSphere as the platform to replace the prior ad hoc interface structure, and Markas signaled plans to add Boomi B2B/EDI Management along with additional SAP and CRM extensions. Governance and operational change centered on reducing ad hoc point-to-point interfaces and enabling a governed, company-wide integration practice, with staff adoption accelerated by short hands-on familiarization periods. The Boomi deployment was described internally as an alive, ongoing program to accompany future business development, delivering self-service integrations in a timely, structured manner and simplifying orchestration from HR to CRM to finance.
