In 2019, MASAYA Co., Ltd. implemented SmartHR to centralize headquarters human resources administration for its Color Studio cosmetics specialty chain. MASAYA Co., Ltd. is a retail operator with 37 stores nationwide and a small corporate headcount of 15 employees, the SmartHR deployment was positioned to support core HR operational workloads from the Tokyo headquarters.
The SmartHR Core HR application was configured to manage attendance management, payroll and bonus calculation, year end tax adjustment, general social and labor insurance procedures, onboarding and offboarding, leave of absence processing, personnel system administration, preparation of internal documents, and employee inquiry workflows. SmartHR was used to operationalize routine HR transactions and formalize payroll and social insurance workflows consistent with Core HR functional terminology.
SmartHR was integrated with the customer indicated systems, including Yayoi for payroll accounting and with e-Gov and eL-Tax for government filing and reporting workflows, enabling electronic submission of social insurance and tax documents. Operational coverage was centered on the Tokyo headquarters HR team, which handled companywide obligations such as preparation of 36 agreements and statutory notifications for the 37 store network.
Governance and process changes focused on centralizing personnel affairs at headquarters, documenting social and labor insurance procedures, and standardizing joining, leaving, and notification processes within SmartHR. The implementation reflected headquarters driven HR administration for store staff, with configuration aligned to Japanese statutory filing workflows and ongoing HR case handling through the SmartHR Core HR application.
