| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA - Asset Management | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2021 | 2024 |
In 2021 Maxis implemented SAP S/4 HANA - Asset Management to centralize Enterprise Asset Management across its communications operations. The deployment focused on embedding SAP S/4 HANA - Asset Management into Maxis’s existing SAP landscape to support asset lifecycle, investment planning and project execution at the Kuala Lumpur operational hub.
The implementation covered configuration and end to end functional delivery of Asset Management modules alongside Project System and Investment Management, with explicit configuration of Plant Maintenance workflows. Functional workstreams included requirements gathering, design and program functional specifications, test planning and execution, and user acceptance testing. Data migration for Project System, Investment Management and Asset Management was executed using SAP migration tooling including LSMW and bespoke transformation documentation.
Integrations were implemented with third party network and OSS systems, notably an end to end interface between SAP PS and PM and Netcracker using SOAP simulation for message exchange. The SAP S/4 HANA - Asset Management rollout leveraged native integration points to Materials Management, Controlling, Sales and Distribution and Financials to ensure procurement, cost accounting and billing workflows were reconciled with asset and project transactions. Operational coverage targeted project delivery, maintenance, investment control, procurement and finance teams within Maxis.
Governance emphasized iterative change control, training and post go live support, with a consultant-led program that handled user change requests, configuration adjustments and user education. Process artifacts included documented user requirements, solution roadmaps, functional specifications and test cases, with continued support and issue resolution after go live to stabilize Enterprise Asset Management processes.
