In 2010, McFarlane Toys implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP as its ERP Financial system. The Microsoft Dynamics GP deployment was positioned to centralize finance and operational recordkeeping for a 200 employee media manufacturer, with explicit focus on inventory, sales order processing and commercial invoicing.
The implementation configured Microsoft Dynamics GP modules including inventory, the sales module and SmartList reporting, aligned to logistics workflows such as container receipts, generate factory purchase orders, routing and shipping for specialty accounts, and tracking of shipping, receiving, on hand and open orders across multiple warehouses. Sales forecasting and weighting functions were supported through transactional data in Microsoft Dynamics GP and supplemented by intermediate Excel workflows including V Lookups and pivot tables, while Microsoft Teams served as the collaboration layer for operations and commercial teams.
Operational governance centered on formalizing order to cash and warehouse inventory processes used by Logistics and Sales Order Administrators, including commercial invoicing routines, key customer purchase order handling, maintenance of employee orders and sales, and production of reports for infractions and penalties for large accounts. Microsoft Dynamics GP was the system of record for these business functions, driving standardized workflows across logistics, commercial invoicing and sales administration without introducing named third party integrators.

In 2017 McFarlane Toys implemented Paychex HR as its Core HR solution to centralize HR administration for the company, covering roughly 200 employees at its North Las Vegas site. Paychex HR was adopted to support core personnel management and payroll workflows within the HR organization and front-line office administration functions.
The Paychex HR deployment encompassed payroll processing and timecard management, benefits administration including enrollments and changes, recruiting and onboarding workflows, employee recordkeeping, and point of contact handling for employee inquiries and relations. Configuration emphasized HRMS fundamentals such as role-based access to personnel files, recurring payroll schedules, and standardized onboarding and off-boarding checklists to align HR and office assistant responsibilities.
Operationally the implementation tied payroll posting into the company accounting processes, with job documentation specifying that payroll entries are posted into the accounting software and that familiarity with MS Great Plains is preferred for accounting posting tasks. The solution was used day to day by HR and administrative staff in North Las Vegas to manage recruiting, payroll entry, benefits administration, and clerical support functions.
Governance and workflow controls focused on formalizing recruitment steps from job posting through offer, streamlining onboarding and off-boarding handoffs, and establishing the HR and Office Assistant as a consistent employee relations contact. Paychex HR served as the primary HRMS for administering policies, payroll inputs, and benefits communications, with staff expected to operate Paychex HR alongside the company accounting workflow.
