In 2015, McKee Foods upgraded to Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2. Functional implementation emphasized transaction processing, period close, asset accounting and purchase order lifecycle management, with reporting feeds directed to Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition OBIEE 12c Financials Analytics which is being implemented to centralize financial analytics and dashboards.
Operational ownership is managed by in house application teams, with Sr. Systems Analyst level support responsible for configuration, development, interface maintenance and reporting for GL, AP, PA, FA and PO. In 2013, McKee Foods implemented IBM Maximo CMMS to formalize plant maintenance and reliability operations. The deployment positioned IBM Maximo CMMS Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) as the central system for maintenance, reliability, production maintenance, purchasing and inventory control within the Consumer Packaged Goods environment at McKee Foods.
Configuration focused on core maintenance and materials management capabilities, including Purchasing, Inventory, Costing, Formulas, Users and Security, Process Manufacturing support, and period end closing processes. IBM Maximo CMMS was used to create and manage stock items, maintain records and forms, and generate and track work orders and predictive maintenance schedules, aligning application configuration with standard CMMS work order management and asset-centric maintenance workflows.
Operational use extended across plant-level maintenance and reliability teams, with technicians and reliability analysts using IBM Maximo CMMS to document equipment condition, create new stock items and execute written work orders. The implementation supported collaboration with drafting and engineering teams who reviewed SolidWorks and AutoCAD sketches for parts modifications, while maintenance staff performed follow-ups with process and production maintenance to ensure task completion and prioritization by management.
Governance included training of new maintenance personnel on using the maintenance system and reinforcing work order and parts record discipline within maintenance operations. The system was actively used to generate predictive maintenance activity, with an internal report of 263 PdM work orders generated within 11 months that was attributed to a $1M savings, and IBM Maximo CMMS continued to support security, user administration and period-close maintenance costing processes.
