In 2021 Mechtop implemented SAP Business One Sales as a Sales Automation platform to structure commercial workflows across its manufacturing and service operations. The deployment targeted sales, order processing, parts lists, warehouse management, resource planning, production orders, purchasing and post calculation processes within the companys operational scope in Switzerland. SAP Business One Sales was configured to support order to cash and order to manufacture workflows, with functional modules covering sales quotes and orders, bill of materials and parts lists, inventory transactions in warehouses, production order scheduling and basic resource allocation. The implementation emphasized system based process orchestration and digitalization of transactional workflows in sales and production planning. A Feald Service Management application was introduced to address field service and after sales activities alongside SAP Business One Sales, and engineering project processes were developed to formalize appointment and resource planning. Personnel management was professionalized with revised personnel regulations, clarified responsibilities across functions and the introduction of department level planning controls. Governance changes included the development and installation of key figures for a management cockpit, process thinking initiation across departments and clearer accountability for sales, engineering, procurement, logistics, manufacturing and service functions. Rollout and operationalization focused on embedding standardized workflows for order processing, purchasing and production control into daily operations. Results reported after one and a half years show an advanced system based implementation and digitalization effort, the introduction of Feald Service Management, professionalized personnel management and the establishment of management reporting and engineering project planning capabilities using SAP Business One Sales.
