The Workday HCM deployment targeted Core HR capabilities across staffing and organization, recruiting, compensation, absence management, talent management, HR self-service, manager self-service and employee self-service to harmonize processes and standardize core HR workflows. Configuration and rollout planning emphasized prototype review sessions, structured requirement collection and formal UAT planning, with the project team creating detailed work breakdown structures to govern iterative configuration. Training design was scoped for area-specific and role-specific programs to support multilingual users, and mobility was planned to ensure Workday HCM would support mobile phones and tablets for on-the-go HR tasks. Integrations and operational coverage were defined through coordination with IT for single sign-on and system integration, and a data governance plan was established covering who maintains which data elements, license provisioning, password reset procedures and Support Center responsibilities. Requirement collection was organized through outreach to HR managers across the user company, coordinating 8 functional leaders and 7 technical leaders to structure requirements gathering covering more than 50 countries and more than 20,000 employees as described by the project manager. Project governance was formalized with a Project Charter, an organization chart and a RACI model to assign accountability and communication pathways, and change management executed a top-down communication approach from senior management through HR heads to frontline employees. The project manager led stakeholder alignment, cross-country coordination and the detailed planning of prototype reviews, UAT, support schemes and training to operationalize Workday HCM as the companys Core HR system.
