| Workday | Oracle PeopleSoft HCM | Workday HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2018 | 2019 |
In 2015 Medtronic Australasia implemented Workday HCM, moving from Oracle PeopleSoft HCM to a cloud SaaS Core HR platform after PeopleSoft was assessed as extensively customized, costly to maintain and low in end user usability. The Workday HCM deployment targeted Core HR capabilities across staffing and organization, recruiting, compensation, absence management, talent management, HR self-service, manager self-service and employee self-service to harmonize processes and standardize core HR workflows.
Configuration and rollout planning emphasized prototype review sessions, structured requirement collection and formal UAT planning, with the project team creating detailed work breakdown structures to govern iterative configuration. Training design was scoped for area-specific and role-specific programs to support multilingual users, and mobility was planned to ensure Workday HCM would support mobile phones and tablets for on-the-go HR tasks.
Integrations and operational coverage were defined through coordination with IT for single sign-on and system integration, and a data governance plan was established covering who maintains which data elements, license provisioning, password reset procedures and Support Center responsibilities. Requirement collection was organized through outreach to HR managers across the user company, coordinating 8 functional leaders and 7 technical leaders to structure requirements gathering covering more than 50 countries and more than 20,000 employees as described by the project manager.
Project governance was formalized with a Project Charter, an organization chart and a RACI model to assign accountability and communication pathways, and change management executed a top-down communication approach from senior management through HR heads to frontline employees. The project manager led stakeholder alignment, cross-country coordination and the detailed planning of prototype reviews, UAT, support schemes and training to operationalize Workday HCM as the companys Core HR system.

| Adobe Systems | Legacy | Adobe Experience Manager | Digital Asset Management | Content Management | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Medtronic Australasia implemented Adobe Experience Manager. Adobe Experience Manager is used on their website and is the focal Digital Asset Management solution for web content and media delivery.
The implementation centers on a centralized asset repository and cataloging capabilities typical of Digital Asset Management systems, including metadata-driven search, version control, automated renditions for web delivery, and role based access controls. Adobe Experience Manager supplies content authoring support and media management features that underpin web pages and digital channels.
Operationally the deployment is scoped to the corporate website and supports marketing and digital content teams across the Australasia region, providing a single source for images, videos, and published web assets. Integration is focused on authoring to production content delivery flows on the public website, so assets managed in Adobe Experience Manager feed the site front end and editorial workflows.
Governance activity tied to the Adobe Experience Manager deployment includes formalized asset taxonomy, metadata governance, and approval workflows for published assets, designed to standardize ownership and lifecycle control for web content. The narrative reflects a web centric Digital Asset Management implementation in a mid sized manufacturing organization using Adobe Experience Manager for web asset orchestration.
