In 2018 Australian Pacific Airports (Melbourne) Pty Ltd began using IBM Maximo as its Enterprise Asset Management platform as part of Programmed’s Facilities Management and Civil Hydraulic Maintenance contracts. The Maximo implementation was established to support a 24/7/365 operating environment across terminals T1, T2, T3 and T4, the Cargo Park, the Business Enterprise Park and an 89 building estate, plus the airport water, sewer and stormwater network.
IBM Maximo was configured to address core asset management functions including asset register reconstruction, planned preventative maintenance scheduling, reactive work order management and helpdesk coordination. The deployment included a mobility solution for field crews, structured preventative maintenance programs for critical assets, lifecycle and condition reporting, and maintenance of GIS asset data to align with ISO 55001 principles.
The Maximo solution was integrated with Programmed and APAM operational workflows and reporting tools, with Power BI introduced for desktop reporting and real time dashboards. Programmed explored integration with Nukon to overlay aircraft movement and passenger flow data to inform works scheduling and first responder duties, and the implementation included linkage between the Maximo environment and the Airport’s existing asset management records to enable synchronized asset information.
