In 2025, MMG Limited began migrating its SAP ERP ECC 6.0 estate to SAP S/4 HANA as a focused ERP Financial program. The initiative is being coordinated from the group office in Melbourne and targets MMG operations across Australia, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Peru, with support offices in South Africa, China, and Laos contributing business and compliance requirements.
The SAP S/4 HANA deployment centers on core financial capabilities typical of ERP Financial implementations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Controlling, statutory reporting and period end close orchestration. Configuration workstreams emphasize chart of accounts harmonization, unified master data for vendors and customers, and automation of close and reporting processes using S/4 HANA ledger and reporting features.
Delivery is structured around collaboration between the SAP Migration team, MMG IT and business subject matter experts with workshops to capture requirements, validate assumptions, and prepare the RFP and tender artifacts referenced in the program. Interfaces are being scoped to align S/4 HANA financial masters and electronic reporting with mining operational systems and local statutory reporting frameworks across jurisdictions, and integration patterns will follow finance to operational data flows and reconciliation controls.
Governance is anchored by an SAP Program Manager with a Transformation Delivery Lead responsible for business case development, risk identification, stakeholder engagement, and maintaining the repository of business cases that define scope and budget decisions. The program emphasizes formal RFP management, tender oversight, and adherence to organisational governance standards to balance project momentum with controlled decision making during the SAP S/4 HANA transition.

| SAP | Pronto XI ERP | SAP Enterprise Asset Management | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2014 | 2015 |
In 2014, MMG Limited implemented SAP Enterprise Asset Management as the enterprise asset solution for its mining operations, replacing Pronto XI ERP. The SAP Enterprise Asset Management deployment was positioned within MMG’s broader SAP landscape to manage asset lifecycle and maintenance processes across operating and dormant mine entities.
Configuration and modules focused on standard Enterprise Asset Management capabilities, including asset master data consolidation, work order management, preventive maintenance scheduling, maintenance planning and scheduling, and spare parts inventory control. The implementation included configuration for maintenance execution workflows and condition monitoring inputs to support operational maintenance teams at mine sites.
The SAP Enterprise Asset Management instance was integrated into MMG’s SAP ECC6.5 financial and management accounting environment, supporting financial reconciliation and fixed asset accounting through shared master data and transactional links. Data migration workstreams moved asset and transactional data from Pronto XI ERP into the SAP environment, and operational coverage extended to multiple operating mine sites and dormant entities while aligning with Group Finance, Group Tax, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, and audit requirements.
Governance and rollout were organized around centralized service delivery, with Day1 centralized financial services delivered from the Vientiane shared service hub and training and support processes to onboard regional teams. The program emphasized asset master consolidation, controlled cutover activities from Pronto XI ERP, and role-based training for operations and finance teams to sustain maintenance and accounting workflows within SAP Enterprise Asset Management.
