In 2019, Montgomery County Common Pleas Court implemented Equivant CourtView as its Case Management application to centralize electronic case records and operational workflows. The deployment is managed by the court’s Technical Support Section, which operates the service desk and handles tier one ticket resolution, escalation, and coordination of tier two and tier three tickets with internal county technical staff or outside vendors.
Equivant CourtView is used to support core case management workflows common to the Case Management category, including case intake, docketing and calendaring, records management, evidence tracking and reporting. The Technical Support Section performs business analysis and configuration work for Equivant CourtView when the court’s business units require changes due to legislation or internal process updates, and authors or updates technical documentation and business process artifacts to support those changes.
The Technical Support Section manages Equivant CourtView alongside other Commercial Off the Shelf critical applications such as OCSS, Tybera, OnBase, Cherwell and Ranorex, and it also supports the court’s kiosks and Four Winds informational displays. Operational coverage extends to courtroom technology, including video and audio recording and evidence presentation systems, and the team supports attorneys and judicial staff technology issues in courtrooms, escalating to JAVS when appropriate.
Governance is organized through the Technical Support Section’s responsibility for onboarding and offboarding in conjunction with the Court’s human services section, ticketing and escalation workflows, and change control driven by business analysis requests. This structure places Equivant CourtView within a managed COTS portfolio under the court’s Technical Support Section, linking Case Management operations with documentation, support escalation and cross-application operational oversight.
