| Emburse | Legacy | Emburse Invoice Enterprise | AP Automation | ERP | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016, Morrison & Foerster deployed Emburse Invoice Enterprise as their AP Automation solution. The deployment targeted the accounts payable function across the 1500 employee professional services firm in the United States, establishing centralized invoice intake and structured processing for supplier invoices.
Emburse Invoice Enterprise was configured to support invoice capture, workflow routing, approval orchestration and vendor invoice management consistent with AP Automation capabilities. The AP team maintained administrative ownership of Chrome River for expense management while administering Emburse Invoice Enterprise for supplier invoice processing, preserving a clear separation between invoice automation and expense application administration.
ServiceNow was used for Accounts Payable ticket inquiries, with a designated ServiceNow Accounts Payable ticket inquiry administrator serving as the operational liaison for AP support workflows. That administrative linkage created coordinated handling of ticketed inquiries, supporting triage and routing between the AP Automation platform and the AP helpdesk function.
Governance activity included developing AP metrics and KPIs to measure service levels against industry benchmarks, with KPI instrumentation and reporting embedded into AP operational processes. The implementation emphasized administrative ownership, process governance and KPI-driven service level measurement within the AP function.

| UKG | Legacy | Ascentis HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2011 | 2018 |
In 2011, Morrison & Foerster implemented Ascentis HCM as a Core HR deployment to support firm payroll and HR processes. The implementation was scoped to address complex pay group requirements for a professional services workforce that included 1,700+ US non partner attorneys and staff, and it explicitly supported US based expatriates and local hires in Asia.
Ascentis HCM was configured to deliver core employee record management and to act as the Core HR hub alongside targeted payroll and time systems. The deployment included configuration for multiple pay cycles and pay group handling consistent with attorney semi monthly payroll and staff bi weekly payroll. The Ascentis HCM deployment was aligned with category typical capabilities such as employee master data, pay group configuration, and payroll interface orchestration.
The environment integrated Ascentis Payroll for payroll processing, WorkForce v. 9 for time and attendance processing, and Workday for HRIS, reflecting a multi system architecture. Payroll processing was operated by a centralized team of three, managing more than $250m in annual payroll across 24 semi monthly attorney cycles and 26 bi weekly staff cycles per year. Integration points focused on time capture to payroll flows, pay group segregation, and expatriate payroll handling across the US and Asia.
Operational governance centered on a small centralized payroll operation responsible for cycle scheduling, exception processing, and system to system reconciliations. The implementation required pay cycle orchestration and process adjustments to coordinate semi monthly and bi weekly schedules, and to maintain synchronized employee data between Ascentis HCM and Workday. Change control and payroll cut off governance were established to manage reconciliations between Ascentis Payroll, WorkForce v. 9, and Workday.
The resulting application footprint positioned Ascentis HCM as the Core HR element within a heterogeneous HR and payroll stack, with Ascentis Payroll, WorkForce v. 9, and Workday functioning as specialized processing systems. This multi product architecture emphasized integration of Ascentis HCM with targeted payroll and time solutions to support the firm business functions of payroll, time and attendance, and HR recordkeeping.

In 2021, Morrison & Foerster implemented Accruent EMS. Accruent EMS is a Facility Management application deployed to centralize conference room and event scheduling, consolidate resource booking, and provide visibility into office hospitality operations across the firm. The implementation focused on configuring conference room scheduling, reservation workflows, resource assignment for VIP events, and visitor management to support recurring partner meetings, client meetings, associate events, and the firm annual holiday party. Morrison & Foerster Accruent EMS Facility Management supports hospitality and events coordination as a primary business function for the office.
Accruent EMS was implemented alongside Salesforce as part of a broader office operations initiative, aligning facility scheduling workflows with event and administrative processes used by Administration, IT, Business Development, DEI, and HR. Governance and rollout responsibilities were managed through the Director of Administration with project management support, ongoing employee portal updates to surface booking information, and day to day oversight by hospitality staff focused on process improvement and schedule adherence. Functional coverage included conference room provisioning, event coordination, and operational scheduling, while HR retained non system process activities such as I9 verifications. Accruent EMS was positioned as the operational tool for internal events and workspace coordination within the firm.
