In 2019 National General, an Allstate Company implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as part of an ERP Financial program. The engagement included managing an E-Business Suite R12.2.10 upgrade project alongside an upgrade to Oracle Database 19c, with concurrent OS migrations for application and database servers.
Oracle E-Business Suite was configured to support core ERP Financial workflows while prioritizing application availability, backup automation, and database performance tuning. Database restore governance was formalized by creating an RMAN repository catalog to centralize backups and by defining restore policies, and extensive functional testing was executed across multiple environments to validate system functionality after upgrades.
Infrastructure and deployment architecture changes included transitioning databases from physical servers to Nutanix servers and performing coordinated OS migrations for apps and database hosts. These infrastructure moves were executed in concert with network, storage, and server teams and included lead disaster recovery workstreams for Oracle and Postgres databases, ensuring the application and database tiers and underlying virtualization and storage layers were aligned.
Operational governance covered hiring and onboarding processes and mentoring a three person DBA team to operate and sustain Oracle E-Business Suite. The E-Business Suite R12.2.10 and 19c database upgrade projects were successfully executed within a three month time frame, and migrations were completed with minimum downtime through scheduled cutovers, extensive testing, and resolution of external obstacles.

| In-House Applications | Legacy | In-House Insurance Pricing and Rating Engine built on Unqork | Insurance Pricing and Rating Engine | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2013 | 2013 |
In 2013, National General, an Allstate company, implemented an In-House Insurance Pricing and Rating Engine built on Unqork. The In-House Insurance Pricing and Rating Engine built on Unqork functions as an Insurance Pricing and Rating Engine to operationalize underwriting, pricing and actuarial decisioning across product lines.
The implementation centralizes core pricing modules and decision logic, including granular segmentation at level 5, supplemental risk adjustments, improved credit modeling, lifetime value modeling, elasticity modeling and optimized pricing strategies drawn from the firm’s RAD 5.0 underwriting pricing capabilities. Configuration leverages Unqork’s form and rules framework to encode rate tables, actuarial rate level indications, and business rules for underwriting tolerances, enabling nontechnical product and underwriting staff to adjust parameters without code changes.
Integrations and data flows connect the pricing engine to the company’s policy administration system, actuarial loss tables and the predictive analytics pipelines developed by the analytics team, enabling automated rate lookups and risk scoring during quote and bind processes. The application is used operationally by product, underwriting, analytics and actuarial teams to determine prices at a detailed risk level and to feed rate indications back to actuarial for tracking accident year results and territory-specific rate needs.
Governance follows the established underwriting and actuarial processes, with the actuarial group responsible for establishing rate level needs and indications, product teams managing underwriting tolerances, and collaborative workflows that route pricing changes for actuarial review before production. National General positions the In-House Insurance Pricing and Rating Engine built on Unqork as a competitive tool, citing RAD 5.0 capabilities and integrated predictive modeling as advantages for more precise risk matching and ongoing pricing refinement.
