National Journal deployed Acoustic Analytics to capture session-level behavior and to provide the editorial, audience development, and marketing teams with granular interaction data to support site experience analysis and content engagement workflows.
Acoustic Analytics (formerly IBM Tealeaf) was configured to deliver session replay, page and form interaction tracing, funnel and conversion path analysis, and event-based segmentation consistent with Customer Analytics functionality. Configuration emphasized page-level instrumentation and event tagging to surface behavioral patterns, session anomalies, and drop-off points for digital product owners.
The deployment was scoped to the corporate website and operated under centralized tagging and access controls managed by the analytics and audience teams in the United States. Governance focused on a taxonomy for event capture, role-based access to session playback, and operational processes to limit capture of sensitive fields while enabling editorial and marketing use cases.
