In 2014, National Pharmacies implemented Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne as the core ERP Financial system while adopting Oracle Cloud Platform components to accelerate customer and store-level services. The implementation targeted retail and supply chain operations across 71 retail stores in Australia, and it focused on procurement, inventory control, order processing, and member service access to support store staff and the national support office.
The deployment combined Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne with Oracle Mobile Application Framework Foundation and Oracle Mobile Cloud to deliver ProcureOne mobile application functionality, enabling staff and suppliers to raise or adjust purchase orders and store managers to approve orders in minutes. Functional configurations centered on self-service procurement workflows, stocktaking scanner integration, automated PO routing to distribution centers or manufacturers based on supply and margin rules, and adaptive inventory adjustments for replenishment timing.
Integration architecture used an adaptive API layer implemented with Oracle SOA Suite to connect Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne to other core systems including a third-party customer relationship management system, and Oracle Infrastructure as a Service to bring device data from stocktaking scanners into the ERP. Oracle Process Cloud Service and Oracle Mobile Hub were used to orchestrate process rules and mobile interactions, enabling secure tablet access to member information and supporting new interfaces such as chatbots and mobile vouchers.
Governance and rollout emphasized process standardization and rapid user enablement, with ProcureOne training reduced to two hours and national support staffing reduced, supported by annual health checks and ongoing architecture guidance from implementation partners DXC Red Rock and Rubicon Red. Explicit results reported by National Pharmacies include stocktaking completed 30 percent faster with recovery of 3,000 stock items, a 90 percent reduction in staff training costs for the mobile app, procurement approvals reduced to two minutes per order, reduced rollout costs for stocktaking scanners by 20x to US$7,400, and the ability to introduce new customer and supplier services more quickly using Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and the Oracle Cloud Platform.

| Frontier Software | Legacy | Frontier Software iChris | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2012 | 2012 |
In 2012, National Pharmacies implemented Frontier Software iChris for Core HR to centralize employee master data and standardize HR workflows across its retail operations. The deployment focused on establishing a core HR information system that would serve as the authoritative source for employee records and workforce data feeds.
Frontier Software iChris was configured to deliver Core HR capabilities including employee profiles, position and organizational data, payroll interfacing, leave and absence tracking, and HR reporting. Configuration work emphasized data model alignment, role based access controls, and automated data exports to support downstream operational systems.
The implementation required extensive interface development to a complex satellite systems architecture. Integrations explicitly developed included Chris21 HR Management and Payroll System V8.04, Kronos V6.3.11 for time and attendance, Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011, the Pulse Warehouse System, the Surefire POS System, the Retek Merchandising System, a Merchant Optical System, the Corum Dispensary System, a Legacy Data Warehouse, and an in house built Legacy Members System. Interfaces were designed to either harvest data from these systems or move consolidated HR data to them, preserving existing operational flows.
Operational ownership and governance centered on in house application development and integration, with the Application Developer role responsible for understanding intersystem communications and designing interface orchestration. The implementation scope covered HR and payroll data flows that touch retail store operations, CRM, merchandising, inventory and dispensary systems, creating a centralized HR data layer for downstream services.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Retail Merchandising System | Retail Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2005 | 2005 |
In 2005, National Pharmacies deployed Oracle Retail Merchandising System to centralize merchandising and inventory workflows. This implementation sits inside a complex satellite architecture, and my role concentrated on mapping inter-system communication and designing interfaces to harvest data or move data between systems. National Pharmacies Oracle Retail Merchandising System supports Retail Management for merchandising and inventory operations across store operations and supply chain functions.
The Oracle Retail Merchandising System was configured to manage core merchandising workflows, including assortment planning, inventory visibility, pricing management, purchase order and replenishment orchestration, merchandise hierarchy control, and reporting. Configuration work emphasized data model alignment and business rule capture to ensure merchandise transactions and inventory states are consistently represented for downstream reporting and store replenishment processes. Automation focused on scheduled data exchanges and event driven updates to maintain near real time inventory accuracy where required.
Integrations were implemented to connect the Oracle Retail Merchandising System with a defined set of satellite systems, using a mix of batch extracts and near real time feeds to move master and transaction data. Named integrations include Chris21 HR Management and Payroll System V8.04 for workforce and payroll data, Kronos V6.3.11 for time and attendance synchronization, Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 for customer and loyalty profiles, Pulse Warehouse System for inbound and outbound inventory events, Surefire POS System for sales and returns streams, Retek Merchandising System for parallel merchandising feeds, Merchant Optical System for optical transactions, Corum Dispensary System for dispensary and prescription data, Legacy Data Warehouse for reporting extracts, and the Legacy Members System (in-house built system) for member profile exchanges.
Governance work established interface ownership, data mapping standards, reconciliation processes, and exception handling routines to support store operations, merchandising, warehouse, dispensary, and HR workflows. Operational scope emphasized consistent transaction semantics across systems and layered monitoring to detect feed failures and data drift, while ongoing interface development prioritized stabilizing master data flows and transactional consistency across the retail estate.
