| BasWare | Legacy | BasWare Alusta | AP Automation | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2020 | 2021 |
In 2020, Nexans implemented BasWare Alusta as its AP Automation platform. The BasWare Alusta deployment was part of the Shape Finance Project and positioned to centralize accounts payable processing across the group, linking invoice intake, validation, and approval workflows to the finance and purchasing functions.
BasWare Alusta was configured to provide core AP Automation capabilities including invoice capture and classification, three way and two way PO matching, workflow routing for approvals, and automated exception handling. The implementation emphasized configuration over customization to support standardized AP processes and to align with the program level objective of shared services consolidation.
Operational coverage included rollout to the group finance organization and the deployed Shared Services Centers that process accounts payable, leveraging the program governance already in place for four Shared Services Centers. BasWare Alusta was provisioned to operate alongside Nexans existing enterprise applications, including MS Dynamics 365 for ERP financials, Ariba for sourcing and procurement touchpoints, Getpaid for payment processing flows, and UiPath for orchestration of automation sequences.
Governance and program execution were driven from the Shape Finance Project office and overseen by the Head of Global Applications and the Head of Global IS Performance, integrating application ownership, demand management, and IS finance controls. The rollout approach prioritized standardized process definitions, centralized configuration control, and alignment with existing SSC operating models, maintaining clear operational handoffs between purchasing and finance teams.

| AVEVA Group | Legacy | AVEVA Historian | Asset Performance Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2020 | 2021 |
In 2020, Nexans deployed AVEVA Historian as part of its Asset Performance Management portfolio. The AVEVA Historian implementation focused on centralizing time series and operational process data to support asset monitoring and performance workflows across manufacturing and automation domains.
AVEVA Historian was configured to collect high-frequency operational signals, event logs, and aggregated metrics, with retention and compression policies aligned to industrial telemetry needs. The deployment emphasized historian-native capabilities for timestamped data storage, interpolation, and batch extraction to feed downstream analytics and reporting processes.
The implementation was integrated with the broader Nexans application landscape, including AVEVA Insights and enterprise systems listed in the group application inventory such as PLM, MS Dynamics 365, UiPath, Ariba, and HFM, to enable cross-functional data flows between engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, finance, and automation. Data ingestion workflows connected plant automation sources to the AVEVA Historian instance while exports and APIs supported consumption by analytics and reporting layers.
Governance and operational ownership were placed within Nexans Global Applications, which from February 2021 centralized stewardship under the Head of Global Applications responsible for application standardization, transformation, automation, and digitalization. Rollout aligned with group-level application strategy, demand management, and IS finance oversight to ensure consistent configuration, access controls, and change management across manufacturing and engineering functions.
