| Certero | Legacy | Certero for Enterprise ITAM | Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), SaaS Spend Management | IT Asset Management | n/a | 2020 | 2020 | In 2020, NHS South, Central and West implemented Certero for Enterprise ITAM as the Certero Unified Platform, IT Asset Management to provide a single asset repository supporting IT Services and the Service Desk. The deployment was positioned to give service desk analysts immediate hardware and software context while they managed incidents and service requests across SCW IT Services in the United Kingdom. Certero for Enterprise ITAM is referenced directly in daily operations by service desk staff alongside other operational tools. The implementation emphasized core capabilities consistent with Hardware Asset Management (HAM),Software Asset Management (SAM),IT Asset Management (ITAM),SaaS Spend Management and included inventory discovery, normalized configuration data, software identification and license reconciliation workflows. Configuration focused on a central asset catalog and role based access for IT Service Desk analysts, with asset reconciliation processes to support software entitlement reviews and SaaS subscription tracking. Certero for Enterprise ITAM was used to surface device and software ownership, lifecycle state and procurement identifiers to downstream operational workflows. Operationally Certero was operated alongside the Service Desk application TOPDesk and a set of support tools used by analysts such as 3CX, BeyondTrust Remote Support Representative Console, NHS Digital portal, EmisWeb, SystemOne, StreamDeck and Swivel Secure Admin Portal. The platform provided the IT Service Desk with asset context during incident recording and SLA driven response, without claiming direct system integrations that were not specified. Active Directory administration and new user provisioning remained an adjacent operational responsibility for the IT Service Desk, providing user and OU context to asset records maintained in Certero. Governance and process alignment were implemented through existing ITIL based ITSM practices, requiring adherence to SCW IT Security Policy, SLA driven incident escalation and timely communication to management during outages. Certero for Enterprise ITAM was incorporated into these governance workflows to support accurate asset data for incident triage, security escalation and routine operational reporting by the Service Desk. |
