In 2020, NHS Supply Chain implemented Oracle Cloud ERP in an ERP Financial deployment aimed at stabilizing order and warehouse management across the national supply chain for NHS Trusts, with the programme budgeted at approximately £23M. The implementation was positioned to consolidate financial and operational workflows within Oracle Fusion ERP while delivering core order management and warehouse management capabilities to support procurement, inventory control, and distribution operations.
Configuration work focused on Oracle Fusion ERP modules for order processing and warehouse operations, including workflow orchestration for order fulfilment and warehouse transaction handling, combined with testing regimes to support parallel running during a phased multi year rollout. The programme emphasized configuration and orchestration of supply chain transactional flows, reconciliation processes, and role based operational access for supply chain and logistics teams.
Delivery involved coordinated integration and operational handoffs with the IT provider DXC and logistics provider Unipart, and close consultancy support from PWC and Project One, with defined integration workstreams to align order and warehouse workflows with third party logistics execution and IT service operations. The rollout covered cross functional supply chain operations and engaged the Supply Chain Executive for strategic decisions, while managing cutover sequencing to allow simultaneous operation of existing systems and Oracle Cloud ERP.
Governance was led by an Interim Programme Director accountable to turnaround the programme, who delivered an integrated plan that enforced collaborative working, transparency, and a risk based management approach. This governance posture restored stakeholder trust and enabled strategic decision making that balanced commercial, customer, and operational impacts during the phased deployment.

In 2011, NHS Supply Chain implemented UKG Workforce Central Timekeeper (ex Kronos Workforce Timekeeper) to standardize Time and Attendance across its operations in the United Kingdom. The deployment targeted daily timekeeping activities, centralizing the input of clocking in and out records and establishing a single system of record for absence notifications, with HR and line managers using the application to manage sickness and to structure team performance reviews.
Configuration work focused on time collection, attendance exception handling, and absence recording, while supervisor workflows were adjusted so managers directly manage sickness cases and record performance review inputs informed by system data. Operational coverage spanned day-to-day team management across NHS Supply Chain sites in the United Kingdom, and governance emphasized manager-level control of clocking data plus routine review cadences for attendance and performance. In 2019, NHS Supply Chain deployed Microsoft 365 as its Collaboration platform. The deployment was scoped to support the organisation of 2450 employees across UK distribution operations and corporate functions, standardizing email, document sharing, and team collaboration for procurement and logistics activities.
The Microsoft 365 implementation included Microsoft Teams for real time communication, SharePoint Online for intranet and document management, Exchange Online for enterprise email, OneDrive for personal file storage, and Office desktop applications for productivity. Configuration work focused on tenancy setup, mailbox provisioning, SharePoint site architecture, Teams channel structure aligned to operational sites, and policies for content lifecycle and external sharing.
