In 2010, Nomad Foods Europe implemented SAP Business Suite as its ERP Financial platform. The implementation was executed as part of an IT programme to separate BEiG IT Systems from Unilever following a private equity acquisition, with the author serving on the IT Programme leadership team and overseeing infrastructure and consolidation planning.
The SAP Business Suite deployment concentrated on ERP Financial functionality, implementing core finance modules such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets management, financial consolidation and master data management to establish a unified chart of accounts. Configuration emphasized country-specific localization for compliance while enforcing standardized accounting processes and chart of accounts alignment across the consolidated instance.
The programme established new infrastructure and then carried out data migration and business process migration for nine countries into one consolidated SAP ERP solution, executing staged data conversion and cutover coordination. Operational coverage focused on finance and accounting functions across the nine-country footprint, centralizing transactional flows and financial master data to support consolidated reporting and statutory close.
Governance and rollout were managed by the IT Programme leadership team, which defined migration sequencing, infrastructure provisioning, data governance policies and controls for master data and chart of accounts. The implementation narrative centers on consolidating finance operations into SAP Business Suite under the ERP Financial category while instituting cross-country process harmonization and program-level control mechanisms.

In 2019, Nomad Foods Europe began deploying SAP Analytics Cloud as a central component of its Analytics and BI program. The initiative ran in parallel with a greenfield upgrade from BW7.4 to BW/4HANA and targeted management information, reporting consolidation, and self service analytics across finance and operational reporting streams.
The implementation included configuration of security and data models within SAP Analytics Cloud and delivery of four SAC stories built on BW COPA data. Analysis for Office and EPM were packaged for desktop users, with a coordinated migration of Bex based BW tabs and Excel calculations into Analysis for Office to preserve workbook logic. Two PowerBI dashboards were migrated onto SAP Analytics Cloud and style guidelines and training materials were produced to enable SAC power users to build their own dashboards.
Operational integration points included the BW/4HANA backend for COPA and other datasets, Analysis for Office for heavy Excel users, a SharePoint site hosting videos and FAQs, JIRA for UAT and task tracking, and ServiceNow for incident and change management. Delivery and BAU support relied on offshore third party support teams for packaged AFO and EPM rollout to roughly 400 users, and documentation was handed to consultancies and support teams for development and ongoing maintenance.
Governance emphasized SOX controls and audit responsiveness, with formal procedures for identification, change, testing, documentation and communication. The program mapped query usage across 400 users to reduce the query estate from 180 to 60, documented over 250 business owned Excel reports, conducted 150 workshops across user levels, produced training videos in three languages, managed UAT of 60 plus queries, and assisted in terminating the legacy reporting environment within four months of go live.
