The migration scope included replatforming the on-premise data warehouse to an Autonomous Cloud Database as part of the OBIEE to Oracle Analytics Cloud transition, and architecting the Virtual Cloud Network topology to support cloud native analytics. The environment retained a complex Oracle database footprint, the main system running as two node RAC clusters replicated across two data centers with Data Guard, plus two additional systems with identical configurations and a data warehouse protected by Data Guard. Workstreams covered Oracle OBIEE administration and support, ODI and WebLogic configuration and administration, daily administration tasks such as performance tuning and code drops, and database patching including ASM.
Integration work explicitly included Oracle GoldenGate for data migration and replication, importing data into the Autonomous Cloud Datawarehouse database, and leveraging Exadata Cloud as a target option. Monitoring and operational tooling used Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c and Zabbix, with AWR based performance tuning and Jira used for change control. The implementation engaged heterogeneous data sources including Cassandra, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server as part of the analytics feed into Oracle Analytics Cloud.
Governance and rollout emphasized system administration controls and platform configuration, driven through WebLogic, ODI and OEM operational processes and Jira tracked change windows. A highly significant architectural flaw was identified in the new blade servers intended for the migration of the existing Oracle RAC Data Guard systems, and that risk influenced migration sequencing and platform validation steps.
