| Oracle | Microsoft Dynamics GP | Oracle NetSuite ERP | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, NWEA implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP, replacing Microsoft Dynamics GP. The deployment focused on consolidating finance and order-to-cash operations for the nonprofit, aligning with an ERP Financial implementation across finance, sales operations, and business operations functions for an organization of about 1,300 employees in the United States.
NWEA configured Oracle NetSuite ERP to run core financial modules including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, contract invoicing, and revenue recognition workflows. The implementation also addressed order management and fulfillment automation, and incorporated fund and grant accounting procedures to manage foundation grants, charter management accounts, and state education contracts while enforcing contract terms for invoicing and revenue recognition.
The NetSuite deployment was integrated with Salesforce CRM and Zuora billing as part of the order-to-cash and subscription billing chain, and tied into a third-party e-commerce web portal to automate self-service ordering and payments. Operational coverage extended across finance, sales order management, fulfillment teams, and executive reporting used to support RFP financial analysis and sales decision making.
Governance and process restructuring centralized invoicing controls, contract compliance review, and revenue recognition oversight, with business operations driving cross-functional workflow improvements. Those process changes eliminated timing-related bottlenecks between product availability and fulfillment readiness, and supported automation of ordering and payment processes for approximately 80 percent of the customer base as documented in internal operational notes.

In 2022, NWEA implemented Docebo LMS as its Learning and Development application, deploying Docebo LMS on its website to act as the primary learning delivery layer for employee training and professional development. The deployment positions the web-hosted Docebo LMS as the front door for course enrollment and access, aligning the Learning and Development function with web-based content distribution and learner self-service.
Configuration emphasized core LMS capabilities including course management, content delivery, learner dashboards, and reporting and analytics, with administrative controls and role-based access governed by the corporate learning team. The implementation established content publishing workflows and centralized administration to manage course lifecycle and learner experience on the site, while embedding the Docebo LMS into NWEA's learning operations and training governance processes.

In 2013, NWEA implemented Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) as its Analytics and BI platform for centralized reporting and analytics. The initiative established a SQL Server 2016 Business Intelligence stack architecture for development and reporting strategy, aligning ETL, semantic modeling, and visualization capabilities across the organization.
The Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) deployment used SSIS for ETL and data pipeline orchestration, SSAS for semantic model and cube design, and SSRS together with Power BI for operational and ad hoc reporting workflows. Data integration explicitly included PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, AWS Athena, S3, and REST API sources, ingested into the SQL Server BI layer via SSIS and external connectors to populate the centralized data models. Governance and reporting strategy emphasized modular report development, managed semantic models, and a centralized reporting layer to support analytics teams and downstream visualization in Power BI, enabling consistent Analytics and BI consumption across business functions.
