In 2010, Ocean Steel reinstalled Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne HCM. The Core HR deployment included a focused reinstallation of the JDE Payroll application module to address long standing payroll processing issues.
The JDE Payroll application module was initially implemented in 2003 and used techniques that required significant manual calculations and offline uploads into the JDE payroll database. Christian Ruby developed cost effective payroll architecture and techniques over several years and implemented them during the 2010 reinstallation, building a brand new payroll setup architecture to operationalize those techniques.
The implementation configured Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne HCM payroll capabilities so that the JDE Payroll application performs 100 percent of required payroll calculations, eliminating manual calculation steps previously handled by the payroll department. Functional configuration emphasized automated calculation rules, pay element setup, and database driven posting to the payroll tables to remove manual pre processing.
Christian Ruby promoted the new payroll setup across the OSCO Group and the rollout focused on operational handover to the payroll department and configuration governance to maintain calculation accuracy. The project narrative centers on payroll architecture, automated calculation workflows, and Core HR application configuration within Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne HCM.
