Infor Legacy Infor SunSystems ERP Financial ERP n/a 2017 2017
In 2017, Office of Rail and Road implemented Infor SunSystems as its ERP Financial application. The deployment established Infor SunSystems as the primary accounting platform for ORR’s finance organization within the United Kingdom regulator, while HR and payroll continued as separate systems. Infor SunSystems was configured to support core ERP Financial capabilities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and financial reporting, reflecting standard accounting and statutory reporting workflows. Payment processing remained outsourced to Liberata, and SunSystems was operated with interfaces to the outsourced payment service to manage cash disbursement and transaction posting. Operational coverage placed SunSystems under the finance department, while payroll functions continued on Star with payroll outsourced to Liberata, and HR functions remained on Sage SnowdropKCS2011 provided as a system provision only. Existing supplier contracts had staggered end dates from March 2019 with an option to extend through April 2020, which framed vendor management and renewal sequencing for finance, payroll and HR services. Governance emphasized a central finance control model for configuration, transaction approval and reporting within Infor SunSystems, with separate governance and operational interfaces for the outsourced payroll and the provisioned HR system. The implementation positions Infor SunSystems as ORR’s ERP Financial platform for accounting operations, while maintaining a federated application landscape for HR and payroll.

Oracle Cloud HCM was configured to deliver core employee records, workforce lifecycle management, absence and leave administration, position and job structures, and HR case management consistent with Core HR functional requirements. The implementation established configured business processes for onboarding and offboarding, personnel data governance, and role based access controls using Oracle Cloud HCM security and configuration features. The engagement included managed integration with Oracle Cloud ERP as part of the combined Oracle Cloud ERP and HCM managed service arrangement, aligning HR data flows for payroll, accounting, and cost allocation. Operational coverage focused on ORR's central HR and payroll functions supporting approximately 330 employees in the United Kingdom, with cloud tenancy and operations handled under Version 1's managed service. Version 1 retained managed service responsibilities including application configuration management, patch and upgrade orchestration, operational support, and compliance controls, consistent with Oracle Cloud managed services. Version 1 was appointed based on its Oracle Modern OPN Partner status, 25+ year Oracle heritage, and scale as the largest Oracle practice in the UK and Ireland.
