In 2016, Optimal Blue implemented Microsoft Power BI to create a lender-facing self-service analytics product within its mortgage marketplace, supporting management of $45 billion in rate locks for one of four mortgages nationwide. The implementation is described within the Analytics and BI category and was driven by a newly formed data team under the Director of Data Engineering.
The program combined solution architecture, data architecture, dimensional modeling, and software architecture into a single product offering, with hands on leadership of an agile team comprised of internal staff and outsourced services from a third party partner. Functional capabilities included dimensional data models for loan lock processes, governed metrics for trading and pricing workflows, and embedded dashboards using Power BI Embedded to surface analytics to lender customers.
The deployment architecture used Azure Data Factory for ETL and orchestration, Azure SQL Elastic Pools as the analytic relational store, Power BI Embedded for delivery of interactive reports, and VSTS for build and deployment pipelines of all artifacts. Data pipelines, schema design, and CI CD pipelines were part of the technical deliverables, aligning analytics ingestion, modeling, and report provisioning into an automated release process.
Governance and operational scope centered on the Data Engineering organization and the lender-facing product team, with dimensional modeling and pipeline CI CD enforcing consistent metrics and release controls. The Microsoft Power BI implementation provided a productionized self-service business intelligence capability for lenders to monitor and manage loan lock processes, delivered through embedded analytics and governed data models.

In 2021, Optimal Blue implemented DocuSign eSignature on its public website to provide Digital Signing for customer-facing document execution. DocuSign eSignature was embedded to enable in-browser signature capture and workflow orchestration for documents presented on web pages.
The implementation leverages standard DocuSign eSignature capabilities such as envelope management, templating, recipient authentication, and a tamper-evident audit trail, configured to support web-driven signing sessions. Configuration emphasized embedded signing flows, template-based document generation, and automated notification routing to streamline signature collection.
Operationally the deployment is scoped to the website channel where signing events are initiated from customer interactions, providing a centralized digital signature endpoint for outward-facing document execution. Integration is implemented through DocuSign eSignature web integration patterns and APIs to render signing sessions within the browser and to record envelope status back to the website.
Governance was framed around eSignature audit logs and recipient authentication to preserve evidentiary value and support internal controls for online contract capture. Rollout and operational ownership were aligned to web product and legal teams to manage templates and signing policies.
