Oracle Legacy Oracle Cloud ERP ERP Financial ERP n/a 2019 2020
In 2019 Opus Energy implemented Oracle Cloud ERP. The deployment centered on Oracle Financials Cloud as the primary financial management platform within the ERP Financial category to centralize core finance processes for Opus Energy. The implementation emphasized core financial management capabilities typical of Oracle Financials Cloud, including general ledger consolidation, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting. Configuration work targeted chart of accounts harmonization, month end close workflow standardization and automation of journal and invoice processing to align with cloud financial operations. Operational coverage tied the Oracle Cloud ERP rollout closely to customer care and billing functions, aligning finance processes with transactional billing and customer data flows across Opus Energy and related customer service teams. Development, testing and application support functions were merged into a single team to support the ERP Financial deployment and ongoing application lifecycle activities. Governance and organizational changes were driven by the Head of Core Technology for Drax Group, who introduced Agile delivery practices, adopted staff development processes affecting more than 90 FTEs, implemented personal development goals into performance management and established nearshore development and test capabilities with a 30 plus member team in Ukraine. Application support was fully rationalised to boost cost effectiveness and to provide sustained operational support for Oracle Cloud ERP and adjacent customer care and billing systems.
