The deployment encompassed all modules of Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, with configuration focus on core financials, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, inventory management and project accounting to support construction and real estate business functions. Implementation activities included solution configuration, data interfacing patterns and automation of transactional workflows consistent with ERP Financial operational design.
Application lifecycle management and code release orchestration used Microsoft Azure DevOps, while data integration and transactional interfacing leveraged Microsoft ActiveX ADO Active Data Objects. Program governance and documentation were coordinated through Microsoft Project Online and SharePoint administration, and Power BI reporting was implemented to surface consolidated financial and operational dashboards from Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.
Governance combined centralized SharePoint administration and Project Online schedules with Azure DevOps change controls to establish release cadences, role based access and approval workflows for finance, project management and operations teams. Governance and process changes focused on centralized administration under Corporate HR and reduced manual reconciliation between systems. According to CFO Chris DeAlmeida, "Orion was looking for a fully integrated HCM suite that would accommodate Orion's future growth and expansion," and the ADP Vantage HCM deployment was positioned to drive operational efficiency and enable field access to critical information.
