In 2021, Orkla implemented SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as the core component of a Compensation Management initiative within the Orkla Group, executing the project from Oslo, Norway. The engagement ran in parallel with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, aligning master data authorities and HR masterdata integration to support structured pay planning and eligibility across the organization.
The implementation of SAP SuccessFactors Compensation focused on configuring compensation planning workflows, eligibility rules, budgeting constructs, and approval chains to standardize merit and bonus cycles. Configuration work included role-based approval workflows and pay element modeling consistent with Compensation Management best practices, supported by migration of employee pay and masterdata into the SuccessFactors data model.
Integration work centered on masterdata integration between Employee Central and the Compensation module to ensure a single source of truth for job, grade, and employment data. The deployment targeted HR and reward functions within Orkla Group and used Employee Central as the authoritative HR master data source to drive compensation eligibility, plan population, and workflow routing.
Governance and rollout were structured around stakeholder workshops, data migration activities, end-user training, and on-going support handover to internal HRIS teams. Project activities explicitly included workshops, migration, training, and continued operational support, establishing configuration governance and change control for the SAP SuccessFactors Compensation environment.
