In 2014 Palmetto Goodwill implemented Sage HRMS (Sage Abra) to centralize Core HR functions across its nonprofit operations. The Sage HRMS (Sage Abra) deployment supported HR management for an organization with approximately 1,400 employees and administration of over 50,000 personnel records, covering 31 retail stores, ten Federal contract sites, and multiple satellite offices and field personnel. The implementation focused on core personnel administration, workforce data integrity, and pay administration. Functional configuration included maintenance of code tables, management of job requisitions, bulk pay rate updates across Commercial Services and Donated Goods divisions, and redesign of the personnel database into two distinct corporate IDs. The team produced user-facing training materials to enable employee self-service and to reduce HR entry workload. Sage HRMS (Sage Abra) was integrated into the broader HR technology stack, with Cyber Recruiter used for applicant tracking and Crystal Reports used for routine and on-demand reporting to support labor law compliance and federal oversight. The program also supported initial research and early implementation activities for a Kronos timekeeping system and involved collaboration with internal stakeholders and three external service providers to execute the database separation. Governance and process changes accompanied the technical work, including formalized procedures for creating and approving new job titles and descriptions, clarification of reporting structures, and audit preparedness practices to maintain data integrity. Documented outcomes in operational notes included streamlined screening processes that reduced managerial workload, reduced waste and increased accountability company wide, and improved HR response times through procedural and technical recommendations.
