In 2008, Parker Products implemented Aptean ProcessPro ERP, deploying Manufacturing ERP to consolidate manufacturing planning, inventory control, and order management for its ingredients business. The deployment targeted core business functions including purchasing, production scheduling, quality control, inventory accounting, and order entry to support the company’s rapid annual growth and e-commerce requirements.
Aptean ProcessPro ERP was configured to run material requirements planning, automating purchase and production orders so raw materials, packaging, and equipment are ordered at the right time and in the right quantities. Functional modules implemented include MRP, inventory control with real-time balances, lot and serial number tracking, stores and bin management for quarantine control, manufacturing order scheduling, direct labor tracking for cost calculation, and order entry with integrated pricing and two-step billing.
Integrations were established between order entry and manufacturing workflows, and the application was linked to accounts receivable so invoices are created from system-generated orders. Operational coverage extended to purchasing, warehouse operations across two locations, production floor monitoring, quality assurance for both manufacturing and inventory, and accounting for cost tracking and invoicing.
Process and governance changes replaced paper-based lot and multi-step order entry procedures with electronic lot tracking and stores/bin workflows, enabling a Rapid Recall Program to improve traceability and manage quarantined materials. Outcomes reported by Parker include elimination of paper lot tracking, improved inventory visibility and traceability, reduced product tracking cost, more accurate information for management decisions, and tighter just-in-time purchasing through Aptean ProcessPro ERP.
