| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018 Parkway Pantai deployed SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as an ERP Financial initiative focused on bill estimation, bed charging, and electronic payment workflows across its hospitals in Singapore. The implementation targeted integration of a machine learning based billing estimation capability with the SAP R/3 ECC 6.0 environment to support clinical billing and patient accounting processes.
The engagement implemented a machine learning based bill estimation module that performed analysis of training data, identification of dependent and independent variables, data preparation, model training, and iterative testing and fine tuning. Configuration work included redesign and enhancement of the pricing schema to incorporate special discount rates for various bed charges, and the design and development of electronic payment processing for self pay and corporate customers with PDF encryption of statements of account.
Integration work centered on REST based API services to exchange bill estimation data between Parkway systems and external systems, enabling the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 billing layer to receive estimated charges from the ML service and to publish encrypted customer statements. The technical architecture retained SAP R/3 ECC 6.0 as the transactional backbone and used API orchestration to bridge the ML estimation service and SAP billing transactions.
Governance and delivery were organized under an SAP RCM Team Lead, with responsibilities spanning model lifecycle management, training data analysis, test plan execution, and pricing schema governance. Project activities included specification of data feeds for model training, test and validation cycles for estimation accuracy, and configuration controls for discount tiers and payment document encryption.
Operationally the work impacted billing, revenue cycle management, finance, patient accounting, and corporate billing across Parkway Pantai hospitals in Singapore, and ran as a discrete project from June 2018 to January 2019 within the SAP R/3 ECC 6.0 environment. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 served as the central ERP Financial system for the integrated billing and payment workflows.
