The implementation focused on procurement workflows, purchasing document control, materials master data, goods receipt and warehouse operations within SAP R/2, with configuration aligned to ERP Financial acoounting and budget control practices. Standard ERP Financial capabilities were applied to ensure purchasing transactions posted into the financial record and inventory movements were reflected in stock valuation and ledger entries. Operational scope centered on the Materials & Services Section, covering procurement, materials management and warehouse operations, while the same team retained responsibility for preparing budgets and defining manpower requirements for the Section. The SAP R/2 deployment supported day to day transaction processing across purchasing and inventory, and established a single system of record for material movements and procurement costs. Governance and process design were implemented during the build out of the Section, including master data governance for materials and suppliers, documented procurement and warehouse procedures, and budget approval workflows linked to the Section's manpower planning. The project established operational controls and procedural ownership for procurement and warehouse functions within Petronas Gas Bhd using SAP R/2 ERP Financial.
