| IBM | Legacy | IBM Maximo | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | BPD Zenith | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, Pieridae Energy implemented IBM Maximo as its Enterprise Asset Management solution. The deployment used BPD Zenith’s MaxiCloud cloud-based delivery model, with IBM and BPD Zenith collaborating to provide a managed, industry-tailored implementation for Oil, Gas and Chemicals operations.
The implementation leveraged BPD Zenith’s Maximo Accelerator for Oil and Gas Template and focused on Work and Asset Management, Operator Logs, Bypass Management, Incidents Management, Management of Change and Supply Chain. IBM Maximo was configured to generate preventive maintenance work orders based on run hours for critical rotating equipment, and asset health monitoring capabilities were enabled to provide longer-term condition visibility for assets such as compressors.
Integration work included the deployment of BPD’s LoveYourAsset connected data platform to unify real-time condition data with work management, and the extract, refresh and upload of existing operational data into Maximo. Operator Logs were implemented to ABSA standards to support shift handovers, and visualization plus automation were combined to inform Operations and trigger PMs, improving readiness for Field Technicians and Asset Supervisors.
Governance and rollout followed an agile, phased approach, with Phase 1 for Work and Asset Management delivered in just over three months through close collaboration between BPD consultants and Maintenance Analysts, Planners and Schedulers. Phases 2 and 3 were scoped to extend functionality into HSE and Procurement, while the cloud-based model freed internal IT to focus on Pieridae’s core LNG business. Reported benefits from the deployment included improved data transparency, better workflow management and reductions in man hours through more timely asset servicing and fewer unnecessary field interventions.
