Orion Advisor Solutions Legacy Orion Portfolio Construction Portfolio and Investment Management Investment Management n/a 2023 2023
In 2023, Plan 4 Wealth partnered with Orion OCIO to outsource core investment management responsibilities using Orion Portfolio Construction, in a deployment aligned to Portfolio and Investment Management. The engagement placed Orion Portfolio Construction at the center of the firm’s finance and investment management workflows in the United States, enabling the small advisory firm to delegate portfolio strategy and execution while retaining client advisory duties. Orion Portfolio Construction was used to run portfolio construction and trading operations, covering manager due diligence, trade execution, automated rebalancing, and consolidated reporting. Configuration emphasized portfolio modeling, allocation policy enforcement, rebalancing workflows, and operational reconciliation consistent with Portfolio and Investment Management capabilities. The OCIO relationship centralized trading, rebalancing, and reporting workflows, shifting execution and manager monitoring responsibilities to Orion while Plan 4 Wealth continued to own client planning and financial advice. Operational coverage was focused on the firm’s investment management function across the United States, with Orion handling manager selection documentation, trade placement, and portfolio level reporting. Governance was restructured to reflect an outsourced investment oversight model, with Plan 4 Wealth maintaining advisory decision rights and client communications, and Orion responsible for day to day portfolio operations and manager due diligence. The engagement improved operational efficiency and reduced costs, freeing advisor time to concentrate on client planning and financial advice.
