Datatech Payroll was configured to handle core payroll calculation and recordkeeping, including entry of exemptions, insurance coverage updates, savings deductions, job title and department transfers, and routine employee verifications. The solution supported time and attendance entry, piecework pay calculations for seasonal work such as picking, pruning, tying, and rolling, and produced employee reports used for quarterly bonus review and ad hoc verification requests.
Operational integrations and file exchanges were part of the implementation, notably weekly uploads of 401k files to the retirement provider and uploads of worker’s compensation data for Zenith. The implementation also coordinated with Quest for scheduling drug tests, and Datatech Payroll served as the system of record for badge number assignment, new hire setup, attendance entry, and generation of garnishment checks on a weekly cadence.
Governance and process design emphasized a single payroll clerk/HR assistant operating payroll procedures, following documented policies, executing weekly 401k and garnishment workflows, and reporting required changes. The rollout aligned payroll, benefits administration, onboarding and seasonal piecework processes into Datatech Payroll, embedding operational controls for payroll operations and HR transactional governance.
