In 2010, Porto Seguro implemented EbixAdvantage as an Insurance ERP to operationalize broker and exchange capabilities for motor and property insurance distribution in Brazil. USIX’s customer list, which became part of Ebix after the 2010 acquisition, indicates Porto Seguro relied on USIX broker and exchange systems that were incorporated into Ebix’s international carrier and exchange solutions, including AdvantageWeb and EbixAdvantage.
The EbixAdvantage deployment centered on broker and exchange functionality delivered as Insurance ERP capabilities, including distribution orchestration, policy lifecycle support for issuance and servicing, quote and bind workflows, and commission accounting for broker settlements. Configuration emphasized broker transaction processing and automated workflow rules consistent with exchange operations, with the EbixAdvantage application providing the principal transaction and administration layer.
Operational coverage targeted Porto Seguro’s motor and property lines distributed through broker networks across Brazil, with EbixAdvantage supporting broker-facing portals and distribution channel processes. The implementation aligned the exchange platform to insurer distribution functions, embedding broker orchestration, commission workflows, and policy administration within the EbixAdvantage environment.
Governance and process alignment focused on standardizing distribution and commission processes under the exchange model, consolidating broker transaction governance within EbixAdvantage and the Advantage product lineage. EbixAdvantage served as the central Insurance ERP instance for broker/exchange operations following the USIX integration into Ebix, preserving exchange-oriented distribution capabilities for Porto Seguro.

In 2021, Porto Seguro ran a pilot of Pontaltech Voicebot Play! in Brazil to support promotional outreach, debt-recovery contacts and informational calls. The pilot operated 30 to 50 virtual agents concurrently, exercising outbound and inbound voice interaction scenarios in the insurer's contact center environment. Porto Seguro used Pontaltech Voicebot Play! as a Chatbots and Conversational AI deployment to automate scripted outreach and recovery workflows while capturing conversational data for evaluation.
The trial focused on voice recognition, dialog scripting and campaign orchestration, and reported about 95 percent answer accuracy during the trial. Functional scope included voice interaction scripting, automated call handling and campaign-driven outreach tied to collections and customer engagement business functions, providing a production-like testbed for governance decisions and process adjustments prior to wider rollouts.
