In 2014 ESSA Bank & Trust deployed Fiserv Nautilus as its Enterprise Content Management solution to centralize document imaging and electronic records across corporate sites and branch locations. The implementation positioned Fiserv Nautilus to handle core content services, including capture and indexing workflows, image storage and retrieval, and policy-driven retention consistent with Enterprise Content Management functionality.
Configuration work focused on capture pipelines and integration points, with Fiserv Nautilus configured to ingest documents from branch scanners and Webcapture sources, apply metadata indexing, and surface records for downstream review and processing. The implementation included workflow orchestration capabilities to route documents to operations and compliance queues, and configuration of user accounts and access groups to enforce document-level permissions.
Operational integration was explicit with the bank’s identity and messaging infrastructure, Active Directory and Outlook were used for user account provisioning and notifications, and Nautilus was deployed alongside other Fiserv applications such as Cleartouch/Passport, AML, SCO, and WireXchange to support end-to-end transaction processing and compliance workflows. Desktop workstation and printer deployments were coordinated to ensure branch capture hardware and client access to Fiserv Nautilus, with rollout activity covering both corporate and branch sites.
Governance and operational processes were instituted around user lifecycle management and asset control, including end user account creation, removal and maintenance in Active Directory, tagging and tracking of capture devices, and warranty-driven replacement or repair workflows. Support and administration responsibilities were held within Technology Services, reflecting integrated operational ownership of Fiserv Nautilus, capture infrastructure, and document access governance.
