Configuration emphasized standard ERP Financial workflows, master data governance, and integration of inventory and procurement transaction flows to improve auditability and operational control.
Compaq provided the underlying hardware and infrastructure while SAP UK led application configuration and go live support, creating an integrated architecture where transactional data moved between finance and supply chain components. Operational coverage targeted finance, procurement and distribution functions across the Princes Group, aligning business processes to a single SAP Business Suite instance.
Governance shifted toward centralized financial control and process standardization, with SAP Business Suite serving as the system of record for fiscal reporting and supply chain controls. Operational ownership rested with HR operations teams who reviewed contract amendments and ensured that updates were entered into Sage Snowdrops HR accurately and in a timely manner. Governance included defined review checkpoints, data entry service level expectations, and audit trails inside Sage Snowdrops HR to support traceability and compliance of contract changes.

In 2017, Princes Group implemented SAP Analytics Cloud for Analytics and BI to centralize daily sales reporting and provide consolidated dashboarding for commercial teams. The deployment consumed Excel extracts produced by SAP BW and positioned SAP Analytics Cloud as the primary analytics consumption layer for sales reporting workflows.
The SAP Analytics Cloud tenant was configured with a file server connection and data models were built to support story-based dashboards and ad hoc analysis typical of Analytics and BI use cases. SAP BW generated the data in MS Excel format, and those Excel files were staged on an on-premises file server inside Princes Network before being accessed by SAP Analytics Cloud.
Files were exposed to the SAP Analytics Cloud tenant through SAP Analytics Cloud Agent and SAP Cloud Platform Cloud Connector, creating a secure path from the on-premises file share to the cloud tenant. The resulting architecture comprised SAP BW as the data producer, an internal file server as the staging layer, and SAP Analytics Cloud as the visualization and reporting layer.
Implementation partner Bluestonex managed the configuration of the SAP Analytics Cloud Agent and the Cloud Connector, as well as the file server connection, data model mapping, and story development for sales reporting. Governance focused on centralized dashboard delivery and standardized reporting workflows for commercial and sales functions using SAP Analytics Cloud.
