In 2020, Proenza Schouler implemented Aptean RLM Apparel Financials as an ERP Financial solution across its design to distribution operations. The New York womenswear and accessories brand executed a fast paced, five month rollout that delivered a fully integrated PLM, ERP and accounting solution tailored to fashion industry workflows.
The deployment centered on RLMs best in class PLM system and PDM module to support technical design and development, including Bill of Materials creation. The implementation also included the Raw Materials module for fabric and trim purchasing and inventory management, Material Requirements Planning for production planning, and a cloud based ERP Business System for finished goods production management, in transit shipment tracking, sales order creation and fulfillment, order allocation, customer invoicing, and return authorization. Financial capabilities were expanded with Aptean RLM Apparel Financials, which introduced a built in financial statement report writer to replace an external reporting tool.
Operational scope covered Design, Production, Merchandising, Sales, Logistics, Operations and Accounting teams across Proenza Schoulers New York and Italy offices, supporting approximately 70 users. The program integrated RLM with six third party vendors including a Shopify POS integration for the retail store, logistics connectivity from both Italy and U.S. locations to Savino Del Bene, an integration to Farfetch for eCommerce fulfillment, and retail EDI links to trading partners such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus.
Governance and process changes included retiring outdated Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger systems and consolidating financial reporting into RLMs native reporting engine. The rollout eliminated four separate software tools and a cloud server hosting vendor, and reduced reliance on a full time resource previously required to generate financial reports through a third party tool.
Proenza Schouler gained explicit operational benefits stated in the implementation narrative, including improved data processing efficiencies, elimination of cumbersome manual steps for retail EDI customer orders, and streamlined third party warehouse processes enabled by the integrated RLM platform.
