In 2023, PSI Cambodia deployed engageSPARK as a Survey and Questionnaire application to operationalize the Good Families Raise Smart Kids maternal and newborn health program across five provinces. The implementation used engageSPARK to run automated outreach at scale for public health behavior change, enrolling more than 25,000 mothers into program workflows.
The implementation centered on engageSPARK IVR and SMS drip campaign capabilities, configured to deliver automated call blasts and serialized messaging sequences. The program delivered 435,049 voice calls and 148,041 SMS messages as part of scheduled outreach, and messaging logic was organized around education and behavior change modules such as feeding practices and newborn care.
Operational coverage extended across community outreach and program enrollment, with engageSPARK embedded into field registration and follow up processes to sustain ongoing communication with enrolled mothers. The rollout prioritized automated enrollment and scheduled message delivery to support frontline health workers and program managers, aligning communication cadence with program touchpoints and monitoring activities.
Governance focused on content alignment to maternal and newborn health objectives and scripted IVR interactions for consistent message delivery, supporting monitoring and evaluation of behavior change outcomes. The health-focused implementation produced strong reported outcomes, including major increases in knowledge and adoption of key practices, and exclusive breastfeeding rising from 83% to 99%.
