In 2008 PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency, implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as an ERP Financial system. The deployed environment included SAP ERP ECC6.0, SAP Enterprise Portal 6.4 and SAP BW 7.0 running on Oracle 10g and Windows 2003, and a senior SAP Basis engagement covered support and maintenance from August 2008 to March 2010.
Implementation work focused on sustaining core financial transaction processing and enterprise resource planning capabilities within SAP ERP ECC 6.0. Basis activities included regular application of support packages and SAPNotes, client administration and client copies, user administration and authorization role maintenance, scheduled database backups and system health checks, and management of spool and system processes to maintain runtime stability.
High availability and operational resilience were addressed through explicit platform and integration work. A disaster recovery topology was implemented using Oracle Data Guard, QAS landscapes were refreshed from production via database refresh procedures, transports were managed across ECC6 and BW7 systems, SAPRouter was configured with SNC to secure remote connections and an OSS connection was established, and Solution Manager was set up with Service Desk for centralized incident and change handling.
Operational governance emphasized controlled change and proactive system monitoring. Transports and client administration enforced change control, EWA reporting was scheduled and SAP recommendations were implemented as part of ongoing tuning, and Solution Manager based service desk workflows provided a consolidated governance point for support and maintenance across PUB's SAP ERP ECC 6.0 estate.
