In 2010, Quixant PLC implemented SAP Business One. SAP Business One was provisioned as an ERP Financial solution to centralize core finance and accounting functions across Quixant's UK operations and affiliated entity DUK, covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger processing.
The implementation configured sales ledger and purchase ledger workflows within SAP Business One, including supplier invoice approval, coding and posting of purchase invoices, and sales invoice processing. Payment run procedures were executed from the system and included bank payment methods and PDQ card payment handling, while month end period closure and opening of new periods were managed inside SAP Business One. Routine accounting actions were supported by posting of recurring and ad hoc journals such as salary, PAYE, pension, PSA, and Class 1A entries.
Operational integrations and transactional coverage extended to external banking and regulatory systems explicitly cited by the client, including use of the Barclays corporate banking system for foreign exchange operations and bank transactions. Payroll processing and statutory submissions were administered for both Quixant Plc and Quixant UK Ltd, including P11D and PSA filings to HMRC, monthly Aegon pension schedules, and coordination with external pension providers. Reconciliations implemented in the environment included purchase ledger to nominal ledger reconciliations, suppliers statement reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, multi currency bank reconciliations, and PDQ reconciliations.
Governance and process changes focused on establishing standard operating procedures for sales and purchase ledger functions, written instructions and training delivered to staff, and supervision of accounts payable resources. The team implemented a new scanned expenses and corporate credit card expense workflow that logged and posted individual expenses into SAP Business One, maintained audit ready records and supported annual audits, and operated credit control activities that kept reported debt levels below 10 percent.
