Quorn Foods Digital Transformation Initiatives

About the Customer

Quorn Foods is an independent FMCG company, focused on bringing people delicious and exciting food that is good for them and good for the planet, through our market-leading Quorn and Cauldron brands. Quorn Foods was recently acquired by a leading food manufacturing company Monde Nissin Corporation.

Scope and Challenges

Quorn Foods Started its Digital Transformation by replacing SAP ERP R/3 to SAP S/4 HANA using migration cockpit. Faced with a storm of market volatility and forecasting tools that had been stretched to breaking point, Quorn Foods embarked on an ambitious project to put in place an integrated demand and financial planning solution, in one hit, and within very tight timescales.

Outcome and Implications

In the past, Quorn Foods had been forecasting their sales data using spreadsheets, a process that was becoming more and more laborious and prone to errors. This sparked the search for a solution which would offer them the ability to analyze, forecast and report accurately and efficiently and help them to make faster and more informed business decisions.

Simpson Associates worked collaboratively with Quorn Foods to implement BOARD’s performance management and forecasting system in a business critical project that touched people, processes and data.

Quorn Foods chose the Board product to enable them to produce regular and up to date forecasts to allow the business to respond quickly to issues and opportunities. It also provides an integrated forecasting and reporting tool.

BOARD now provides direct integration with Quorn’s SAP ERP system. It provides reliable forecasting data, deeper insight and enhanced ability to measure the return on investment from promotional activity.

"Last year we found that the volatility of our markets really increased. Competitors upped their promotional activity and there was a blurring in categories with retailers switching space with adjacent categories. Our old way of forecasting simply couldn’t cope. All of this meant that it was very challenging to forecast performance and to explain variances"- said Martin Lofnes, Finance Director at Quorn Foods.

"We believe Board will allow us to improve the speed and efficiency of decision making and provide a robust database containing ‘one version of the truth” - said Martin Lofnes, Finance Director at Quorn Foods.
