The deployment supported a company priority to digitize finance and to create a centralized Finance Shared Service Center, starting with German entities and with a planned extension to European and global operations.
Serrala FinanceSuite was configured to deliver core AP Automation capabilities including invoice capture and OCR, invoice matching and exception handling, configurable approval routing, and payment orchestration. Configuration work focused on standardized master data, workflow rule sets, and audit trail instrumentation to align accounting, controlling, treasury and tax processes with automated AP controls.
The implementation integrated Serrala FinanceSuite with the SAP landscape to exchange vendor master data, goods receipt and invoice posting information, and to align with an ongoing SAP rollout across subsidiaries. Operational interfaces were established with purchasing and sales functions to support end to end procure to pay and accounts payable workflows, and the Finance Shared Service Center was defined as the primary operational scope for the solution.
Governance and process changes centered on standardization and harmonization of finance processes, transferring standardized, digitized and largely automated processes to the shared service organization, and maintaining KPIs for continuous improvement. The Finance Shared Service Center acted as the operational owner and the cross functional interface between finance, IT, sales and purchasing during rollout and stabilization.
