In 2020, Rebel deployed MailChannels Email Delivery and incorporated MailChannels Inbound Filtering in July to address compromised accounts and improve deliverability. The implementation positioned MailChannels Inbound Filtering as the Secure Email Gateways (SEGs) layer within Rebel.com hosting email infrastructure to protect incoming mailflows and reduce account compromise risks.
Configuration work focused on inbound SMTP filtering, reputation checks, and content inspection workflows typical of Secure Email Gateways (SEGs), enabling automated quarantine and blocking of malicious or high risk messages. The deployment leveraged inbound policy enforcement and filtering rules to limit propagation of messages originating from compromised customer accounts while supporting the broader MailChannels Email Delivery controls for outbound traffic.
Operational scope covered Rebel's web hosting email flows and the email operations and customer support functions responsible for incident triage. The MailChannels case study reports that the July 2020 deployment immediately reduced email related support tickets by approximately 90 percent and produced an estimated 20 to 30 percent reduction in outbound spam volume after MailChannels Email Delivery went live.
Governance was centered on a centralized MailChannels delivery and filtering layer for ongoing monitoring and policy management, shifting day to day email security enforcement into the SEG platform and reducing manual remediation workload for support teams. MailChannels Inbound Filtering was documented as the inbound security component within Rebel's MailChannels Email Delivery implementation, aligning the company application Secure Email Gateways (SEGs) business function with hosting operational controls.
