In 2018 Reece Group implemented Workday Absence Management as part of a broader Workday rollout. The deployment of Workday Absence Management was embedded within a multi-module Workday footprint that included Core HCM, Time Tracking and Recruitment, aligning absence and leave processes with the enterprise HR platform.
Workday Absence Management was configured to support standard absence and leave workflows, including leave entitlements, absence requests and approval routing, and integration of absence balances with time tracking and core employee records. The implementation leveraged Workday Absence Management capabilities for policy configuration and workforce absence administration to consolidate leave management under the Absence and Leave Management category.
Integrations were implemented to connect Workday Absence Management with external talent and operational systems, specifically job boards, a background check provider, payroll and internal Reece systems. Operational coverage extended across Reece Group HR and finance process domains and included a rollout to over 5,000 staff across Australia and New Zealand, indicating a cross‑regional production deployment and centralized HR service delivery for absence processing.
Governance and delivery were managed through an internal program delivery structure that prioritized capability development, with program teams responsible for system configuration, integration delivery and staged rollout. The program documentation notes successful implementation and rollout of Workday Absence Management to the stated user base, and the program emphasized building internal support capability to sustain Absence and Leave Management operations within HR and finance functions.
