In 2018, ReturnToWorkSA implemented TechnologyOne Financials. The rollout established core ERP Financial capabilities to serve the insurer's finance organization in Adelaide, Australia, focusing on accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger operations.
The TechnologyOne Financials deployment included configuration of standard financial modules such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, procurement and financial reporting. Configuration work emphasized workflow automation and invoice processing rules, aligning with internal process improvement objectives and enabling automated handling of supplier invoices where applicable.
The Financials application was introduced into an existing application estate that is supported by the internal Application Support team, which also manages Office 365, MS Teams, Infiniti, SharePoint, ServiceNow, SmartIQ and Chris 21. The broader environment included an enterprise integration layer that was being migrated to Mule 4 and a program to move web facing applications to HTTPS, which shaped operational and security considerations for the ERP Financial implementation.
Governance and operational ownership rested with the Application Support team and incorporated Lean Six Sigma informed process redesigns. Explicit process changes tied to the Financials deployment helped improve automatic invoice processing and supported efforts to expedite claim reimbursements to seriously injured workers, while ongoing application support and upgrades remained part of the operational roadmap.
