In 2006 Roche Diagnostics Hong Kong began using Cityray HRPlus Payroll, branded as Cityray HRPLUS®, for salary and tax return calculations and payroll processing. The deployment focuses on Payroll and HR processes in Hong Kong, supporting salary computation, statutory tax return preparation, and routine payroll runs for the HR and payroll business functions. Cityray HRPlus Payroll has been the system of record for those calculations since the initial implementation.
In November 2018 Roche signed an upgrade to iHRPLUS EVO and the upgrade project launched Q1 2019 to extend functionality. The upgrade added employee self service and e leave capabilities, expanding the installed base from core payroll and tax calculation modules to include ESS interfaces and electronic leave management workflows. The Cityray HRPlus Payroll solution therefore moved toward a broader HR automation footprint while retaining its payroll and tax calculation core.
Operational coverage remains focused on Roche Diagnostics Hong Kong, with rollout and governance centered on HR and payroll departments in the region. The implementation aimed to scale HR operations and improve payroll and tax processing accuracy by introducing self service workflows and formalized e leave procedures. Governance actions emphasized phased rollout timing tied to the Q1 2019 upgrade project and alignment of HR payroll process changes with the new iHRPLUS EVO modules.

In 2019, Roche implemented Hotjar on its public website to support web user behavior analysis. The deployment focused on client side instrumentation, deploying Hotjar's tracking snippet to capture session recordings and heatmaps as part of a Customer Experience analytics strategy. The implementation scope was the Roche Hong Kong distribution website and targeted digital teams inside a 150 employee organization rather than internal ERP or back office systems. Hotjar was used as the site level behavior analytics tool to inform web experience evaluation.
Configuration emphasized standard Hotjar capabilities including session recordings, heatmaps, conversion funnels, on site polls and feedback widgets, with data capture settings adjusted for consent and retention controls. Operational governance routed dashboards and session visibility to UX, product and marketing stakeholders, and role based access controls were set to limit access to recorded sessions. The implementation aligned Hotjar configuration with existing site tagging and privacy controls to support routine analysis workflows by digital and commerce teams. Hotjar was the named application used for Customer Experience instrumentation on Roche's website.
